First Impressions

During my travels along the northern leg of my Wisconsin trip, I had to stop by Iron River’s Main Street Cafe for their famous Yooper Omelette. Afterwards, I saw Contrast Coffee Co. down the street and had to stop in! Contrast holds an identity that sits somewhere between small-town and serious coffee. They have more energy, quality, funding and traction over a traditional mom-and-pop cafe. If you’re looking for a good beverage with an enjoyable atmosphere, this is a great place to visit!
Atmosphere & Experience
The interior of Contrast Coffee Co is the prime reason to visit their location. They took advantage of the Northwoods in their design to make their coffee shop appear like a cabin. Lots of hardwood and support beams constructed of tree trunks. The industrial lighting adds a nice logger-town touch, that completes the space well. Their menu consists of traditional signature coffee beverages, teas. If you’re hungry, they offer some tasty breakfast options. Way in the back, there is a small store that has a variety of gifts, community seating and Northwoods decor.
The baristas on staff were super nice and helpful with suggesting other local activities and coffee shops for my journey up to Marquette and Munising, MI!

Austin’s Choice
I ordered a Rootbeer Latte, which was just flat out weird. Don’t get me wrong, I like weird. So if you’re weird like I am, I think you’ll enjoy this Espresso, milk and rootbeer concoction.
