Baldwin Perk was one of those locations I tried really hard to like. If it was this place or nothing, then yes I’d take it…but I wasn’t super impressed with the ambiance, customer service or beverage quality. The staff member that I ordered from, was not friendly and seemed to be annoyed at my questions about items on the menu. I ended up ordering a latte, which was very low quality and watered down. It was nice to see them serving local law enforcement, and having a bunch of friends/family gathered around tables.
At the end of the day, this is doing its job as a Third Place; it is getting people together. But beyond that? Not my cup of tea, or someplace I’d recommend to people.
The internal atmosphere of Baldwin Perk was a hodgepodge of old carpet, fast-food type seating and a few miscellaneous tables. Some of the tables had coffee artwork on them. The walls were a collection of third-party wares and gifts. There was a room off to one side (opposite this picture) that had a few tables in it.

I ordered a classic latte, which wasn’t super great. The drink itself was very watered down, and had a layer of plastic-like film collecting on top of the drink…something I’ve found with very cheap coffee. They had a lot of options listed on their menu, so maybe something else here would fit your fancy, but at least from my own experience, I can’t recommend what I tried.
