I grew up in East Troy, WI, so this coffee shop holds a special place in my heart. 2984 On Main is located in the main town square. East Troy is not an especially large town by any stretch of the imagination. Around 5000 people live there, and I used to be one of those. The coolest part is the downtown square, which was established in the mid 1800’s. Even to this day, you can still feel the history and community from time spent out in that area.
2984 On Main is just that: On Main. A small coffee shop and farm-to-fork store that gives off early-settlers vibes. The building itself was constructed back in 1856 as Smith Dry Goods Company, one of the original general stores. The building has held many different lives including a millinery shop and a Masonic meeting place. Inside, you can still see original tin ceiling panels and parts of the old freight elevator.
They have made-to-order breakfast/lunch options and locally sourced ingredients. It’s basically the best way to incorporate its history into a modern-day hangout. Local artwork is found on the walls, and it offers many of your traditional specialty coffee options.
Austin’s Choice
Especially given how homey this place is to me, I really appreciate the classics from here. Either a Latte or a Chai Latte.
