Indie Coffee, owned and operated by J.J. Kilmer has been a cozy neighborhood coffee shop and informal live-music venue in Madison, WI since 2004.

The shop itself has a bookstore feeling, and the bright red accent wall gives the place some character. Inside, there are little tables with lamps, and a few other places of assorted seating. There is even a back patio to get outside if the place feels too stuffy for you. Overall, there’s not a whole lot to share about Indie, but it has kind staff and offers a wide assortment of classic coffee options.
Austin’s Choice
I really really like their Monet Sunrise, which is lavender mixed with honey. A little fun fact for y’all. The owner of Sacred Bean used to work here!
